472 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS JULIA DAVIS RHODES TEAM LEADER OF NEUROSURGERY (RETIRED) Athens Regional Medical Center Athens, GA With more than six decades of professional experience to her credit, Julia Davis Rhodes has cultivated a career of excellence as a proven leader in the health care industry. Specializing in the field of nursing, she previously served as the team leader of neurosurgery at Athens Regional Medical Center in Georgia from 1985 to 2003. Now retired from full-time work, Ms. Rhodes has dedicated herself to assisting Alzheimer’s patients as a registered nurse since 2022. Likewise, she participated in various part-time nursing services from 2006 until 2021. From an early age, Ms. Rhodes fostered a lifelong dream to become a nurse and work in surgery. To wit, she was inspired by her own care nurse, Ms. Sippel, who administered her vaccinations when she was 9 years old. She would thus apply herself and endeavor to begin a thriving career in the nursing industry, following her personal motto, “No matter where you come from, you can accomplish something great.” At the onset of her career, Ms. Rhodes worked as an operating room nurse at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta between 1964 and 1965. She would subsequently join Athens General as a registered nurse, working with the institution from 1965 to 1970. Ms. Rhodes later held positions as a registered nurse and assistant for general surgeon Dr. James Green from 1970 to 1976 and with her local Surgical/OBGYN facility from 1976 to 1985. Throughout her time in the field, Ms. Rhodes has remained particularly adept in the management of nursing equipment, in addition to boasting an impressive skill set in other general nursing practices. The operating room afforded her many opportunities and challenges, which allowed her to develop herself both professionally and personally. Prior to embarking on her vocational journey, she pursued a formal education. Studying at Piedmont Hospital from 1961 to 1964, she earned a diploma in nursing. Furthermore, she officially received her credentials as a registered nurse in 1965. As part of her professional and civic-minded ventures in her retirement, Ms. Rhodes also remains active as a member of Beech Haven Baptist Church, having initially joined the
