Today, he focuses on security procedures for personnel, programs and information, in addition to conducting policy writing and mentoring new recruits. Dr. Chandler has excelled as founder and president of Argus Eagle LLC, his own security assessment company, since 2012. He held similar security management positions at DARPA, Defense Technology Security Administration, Intelsat, CACI International Inc., the U.S. Office of Special Counsel and Lockheed Martin. Ever committed to his community, he serves as the third vice president of the Sergeant Lawrence Everhart chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in Frederick, Maryland. He is also a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and a member of Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons, the Order of the Eastern Stars and the NAACP. As part of his vocational journey, Dr. Chandler earned a BA in criminal justice at Columbia College in 1981. He subsequently continued eclectic studies throughout his time serving in the U.S. Air Force. He ultimately achieved a DMin at the United Theological Seminary in 2020. In addition to his academic credentials, he holds several pertinent certifications in national security. In his scholarly endeavors, Dr. Chandler contributed to a 1999 Select Committee, United States House of Representatives security report, titled “U.S. National Security in Military/ Commercial Concerns with the People’s Republic of China.” He is currently authoring a new book, tentatively named “Transformational Leadership: Changing the Paradigm, Ambassadors of Vision, Residents of Change.” To commemorate his achievements, he has been honored with several accolades, including the Secretary of the Air Force, Diversity and Inclusion, civilian category, Roy Wilkins NAACP Award for 2021 to 2022. The Rev. Dr. Joseph C. Chandler Jr. has cultivated a fulfilling career in public service and military service. Since 2013, he has excelled as a security program manager for the United States Department of the Air Force, having honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 to 1999.
