453 Millennium - Seventeenth Edition GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY Stephen C. McKenna has cultivated a fulfilling career as a multifaceted professional, leveraging more than four decades of practiced expertise. In 2022, he began The McKenna Project, his own enterprise through which he engages in all his recent endeavors as an author, aviator, trial lawyer and engineer. Much of his creative work pertains to his service in the United States Navy from 1985 to 1994, during which time he ultimately achieved the rank of lieutenant. Mr. McKenna captured much of his experience in his 2022 book, “Fair Winds, Following Seas, and a Few Bolters.” Prior to beginning his military service, Mr. McKenna pursued a formal education, attending the Georgia Institute of Technology and earning a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering in 1985. Following his time in the U.S. Navy, he continued his studies at the University of San Diego School of Law, where he received a JD, summa cum laude, in 1997. Throughout his tenure as a legal professional, Mr. McKenna has largely specialized in antitrust, intellectual property and securities litigation. Mr. McKenna is a member of the Knights of Columbus, through which he regularly volunteers for various charitable events. To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. McKenna has been honored with numerous accolades, including several commendation medals, a National Defense Service Medal, and a Pro Bono Award from the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center. In light of his fulfilling career, Mr. McKenna has largely attributed his success to an inquisitive nature and open-minded attitude. Likewise, in accounting for his achievements, he was particularly proud of his work as a senior trial attorney for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, pursuing individuals and entities that committed fraud or other violations of our securities laws.
