Schnurrpusch originally planned to become a high school mathematics teacher, earning credentials in the state of Illinois. However, in light of the Vietnam War, he was compelled to register as a United States Navy officer, commissioned via the Navy Officer Candidate School. Following his first three years of active duty, Mr. Schnurrpusch’s adventures and responsibilities as a naval officer convinced him to continue his military career. In 28 years, he has served on seven ships and captained three. During his military service and subsequent career as a warfare analyst for the U.S. Department of Defense, Mr. Schnurrpusch developed his expertise in problem-solving techniques. These include quantitative analysis and formulation of persuasive recommendations for senior decision-makers within the department and the U.S. Navy. In recognition of his naval achievements, Mr. Schnurrpusch was honored with two Legion of Merit Medals, received civilian recognition for his accomplishments, and became a Distinguished Alumnus at Illinois State University. In the coming years, he intends to continue working as a defense analyst for national security and lending his experience to young analysts and naval officers. SENIOR NAVAL AND JOINT WARFARE ANALYST United States Navy Burke, VA Well-regarded for her leadership skills and passion for emergency response, Jenniffer F. Wilson earned distinction as the associate director of oversight and accountability of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee. The committee primarily ensures the proper use of funds for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of 2020 and other related emergency spending bills. After beginning her government career in 1989 at the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General, Ms. Wilson joined the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and later transitioned to the intelligence community. She also worked with the Office of the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program and the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction before entering her current role at the GAO Center for Audit Excellence. Ms. Wilson has earned numerous accolades, including recognition from the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, several national intelligence awards, and the Global War on Terrorism Award.
