VILLAVASO TECHNICAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE Impact100 Global Veterans Westwego, LA A veteran of the United States Navy, Cindy A. Villavaso has since distinguished herself through her work on the technical resources committee for Impact100 Global Veterans. Founded in 2021 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veteran women and raising funds for veteran-focused organizations, Impact100 has garnered distinction for its commitment to collaborative philanthropy. The group primarily focuses on disbursing transformational grants to various charities that support artistic endeavors, environmental awareness, health, education and family bonds. In her capacity on the technical resources committee, Ms. Villavaso makes financial contributions to the organization and actively engages with corporations, friends, families and fellow veterans’ organizations to bolster the Impact100 brand and secure additional funds. Her contributions extend to facilitating networking, managing the website and email communications, and overseeing technical aspects underpinning key operations. Holding a strong desire to join something greater than herself, Ms. Villavaso wanted to enroll in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) during high school. Ultimately, though, as soon as she was eligible, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1986, after which she would subsequently spend over 20 years honorably serving overseas and throughout the United States, including on two aircraft carriers. Specializing in ship-to-shore and shore-to-ship communications, she contributed to a variety of operations, including Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. During this time, Ms. Villavaso notably excelled as one of several female personnel who were first granted access to the U.S.S. John F. Kennedy (CV67), where she attained the rank of chief. Over the course of her service, Ms. Villavaso was bestowed with several accolades, including two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, six Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Global War on Terror Service Medal and two Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbons. She also received a Navy Unit “E” Ribbon, five Good Conduct Medals, three Armed Forces
