In her role, Ms. Block actively researches organizations to support, meets with executives, builds trust with partners, and develops plans for the Foundation as a whole. Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Block has distinguished herself as a talented artist. Her work has been featured in Rizzoli’s “New York City on Instagram” book and in social media via several news organizations, including ABC7 New York, Time Out NY, NY1 and NBC4. Though her eye is often drawn to aerial photography, animals, cityscapes and the multifaceted inhabitants of New York City, she has also traveled worldwide to support the missions of various charitable organizations, including the Nomi Network in India, which works to combat human trafficking. Likewise, Ms. Block traveled to the Philippines in 2019 to help tell the story of Watts with Love, which distributes solar-powered lighting to communities that do not have electricity. Ms. Block studied art history at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she attained a BA in 1988. She subsequently became involved in the graphic design field, in addition to working as a certified yoga instructor. Years later, she participated in the George H. Heyman Jr. Program for Philanthropy and Fundraising via New York University, where she earned an MS in 2013. Among her most notable accomplishments, Ms. Block is proud to have overcome a learning challenge during her youth, an experience that informed her decision to become involved in nonprofit work. In accounting for her success, she credits her innate passion and determination, as well as her keen artistic vision. Looking toward the future, Ms. Block aspires to continue exerting a positive impact on the lives of others through art and philanthropy. Driven by her desire to make a difference in the world, Nadia Block has garnered acclaim as the executive director of the Block Family Foundation.
