Looking to the future, Mr. Brown plans to retire and establish a private practice for underserved patients to promote high-quality communitybased care. In addition, he hopes to travel and continue his work within New Life Tabernacle, where he has preached since 2003. For nearly 40 years, Ronald J. Brown Sr. has served his community as a religious leader and registered nurse. As a young man, Mr. Brown felt called to invest more time in his faith and pursue a career in religious leadership. He earned a Doctor of Divinity from the American Fellowship of Churches and concurrently worked toward a licensed practical nurse credential. Since 1987, he has cared for patients as a part of the Opelousas General Health System, where he is known for his compassion, empathy, and commitment to patient progress. After putting his education on hold to prioritize his family, Mr. Brown graduated magna cum laude from Aspen University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2021. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing with the goal of becoming a family nurse practitioner. To remain current in his fields, Mr. Brown maintains membership in the American Fellowship of Churches, the Louisiana State Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau.
