Mr. Ruth credits his professional success to the values instilled in him by his faith and his parents, and he is proud to have dedicated his career to serving underserved communities. He remains active as a supporter of the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center, in addition to his work advocating for his profession as a member of numerous industry trade organizations. Currently, he is focused on mentoring the next generation of senior living leadership and predicting emerging industry trends. Mr. Ruth emphasizes the need to adapt to client and family needs and underscores that it is possible to provide high-quality care in an economically viable way without compromising the quality of care or service provided. Daniel R. Ruth is an award-winning nonprofit administrator and pioneer in the field of senior care and assisted living management. His interest in working with the elderly was inspired by his father’s work in the industry. To prepare for his career, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in sociology at York University and a master’s degree in health science and long-term care management. Since the early 1990s, Mr. Ruth has overseen numerous elderly communities as a president and chief executive officer, including The Sharon Home (Winnipeg, Canada), Village Shalom (Overland Park, Kansas), Moldaw Residences (Palo Alto, California), and the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living (formerly known as The Jewish Home of San Francisco). In 2022, he organized and became the principal of Dignity Life, offering clients his expertise in operating and managing senior living communities, nonprofit leadership and governance, and philanthropy and fundraising, as well as faithbased community leadership development. At Dignity Life, Mr. Ruth has worked with a plethora of noteworthy clients, including a skilled nursing facility in the process of obtaining state and federal certifications, a Life Plan Community for veterans, and a facility developing new staff training protocols.
