Mr. Lanzone’s industry performance has largely been sustained thanks to his excellent education — he holds a BA from SUNY Fredonia and an MSW from Hunter College. Growing up on the Kickapoo Reservation, Charissa MiijessepeWilson has distinguished herself as the co-director of the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition. The nonprofit consortium of tribal nations focuses on conserving the Bears Ears National Monument, the first inter-tribal effort to achieve management for off-reservation homelands. Drawing on her cultural background, Ms. MiijessepeWilson advances the coalition’s strategic campaigns, manages intergovernmental relationships, oversees philanthropic efforts, sustains major partnerships, and creates organizational structures based on Indigenous modalities. Ms. Miijessepe-Wilson also leverages several years of experience in nonprofit work and public service, including as a board member for ReNew Earth Running, tribal council election candidate and a management fellow in Topeka, Kansas. She previously pursued a higher education as well, ultimately earning an MPA at the University of Kansas in 2018. Looking ahead, Ms. Miijessepe-Wilson aims to develop frameworks emphasizing the power-building of tribal nations, using her current work with the coalition as a template moving forward. She ultimately hopes to aid youth and serve as a mentor for those who may wish to follow her example. CHARISSA MIIJESSEPE-WILSON
