Gibert has achieved excellence as an entrepreneur in information technology and radio. In 1986, he co-founded Venture Technologies, a technology and cloud services provider where he served as the chief executive officer until 2019, when the company was acquired by ConvergeOne, a global information technology service provider. After graduating from The University of Mississippi in 1980 with a BBA in accounting, Mr. Gibert joined the management information consulting division of Arthur Andersen & Co., where he served as a senior consultant until 1985. Seeking further career advancement, he left the company and teamed with a partner to launch Venture Technologies. Initially funded by a $189 thousand start-up loan, Mr. Gibert and his partners secured significant debt capital from the institutional investment community to scale the company through strategic business combinations. Through its decades of operations, Venture Technologies weathered many massive changes in the technology industry, including the internet boom, Y2K, 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina. When ConvergeOne acquired Venture, the company was valued at nearly $100 million. Passionate about giving back to his community, Mr. Gibert currently serves on the board of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation (formerly a vice chairman), as the chairman of the board of Empower Mississippi, chairman of the board of Innovate Mississippi, as the chairman of the board of the Madison County Economic Development Authority, as a board member of the Madison County Business League and Foundation and as a board member of Canopy Children’s Solutions. Previously, he operated as the Heart Walk chairman for the American Heart Association of Metro Jackson. In 2020, Mr. Gibert became the host of “MidDays with Gerard Gibert,” a radio show that airs weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. statewide on SuperTalk Mississippi. In addition to interviews with state and federal elected officials, civic leaders and policy advocates from across Mississippi, each show includes Mr.
