Specializing in biophysics, he has served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and the University of California San Diego since 2022. Much of his work pertains to the evolution of drug resistance in HIV. Dr. Biswas previously worked as a graduate research assistant in the Center for Biophysics and Computational Biology at Temple University from 2017 to 2021. Originally from India, Dr. Biswas began his vocational journey adjacent to his academic pursuits, working at the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research as a research fellow from 2012 to 2015 while also earning his degrees. He received an integrated BS and MS from the institution in 2015. Dr. Biswas ultimately attended Temple University and achieved a PhD in computational physics in 2021. Wellregarded for his dedication to his profession, as well as his scholarly output and civic-minded success, Dr. Biswas has been honored with numerous honors, including several fellowship awards and grants. He attributes his accomplishments to the support of the academic community. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER Salk Institute for Biological Studies, University of California San Diego San Diego, CA With over 15 years of experience in academia to his credit, Dr. Eric L. Buckles has distinguished himself as the associate provost for academic affairs and the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Dillard University. In these roles, he manages a summer program for first-year students and attends regular speaking engagements on behalf of high school students. Having originally joined his school’s faculty as a professor of biology in 2006, Dr. Buckles specializes in microbiology, particularly focused on E. coli research. Extensively published in various scientific journals, he remains abreast of developments via membership with the American Society for Microbiology. Dr. Buckles initially studied at Alcorn State University, graduating with a BS in biology in 1995. Following this accomplishment, he went on to Meharry Medical College, where he earned a PhD in microbiology in 2001. He subsequently pursued postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth University.
