CLARK, CNLP For over 45 years, David R. Clark, CNLP, has helped create beauty and promote a passion for plant cultivation and conservation as an independent professional horticulturist, educator and florist. A rising digital creator in the top 2% of Facebook users, and an expert in landscape design, gardening techniques, and soil and water science, he has presented at many gardening conferences throughout the United States. Mr. Clark has been a longtime instructor for the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens. He also maintains an independent landscape and garden consulting practice and is a certified nursery and landscape professional affiliated with the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association and Niagara Quality Flowers. Mr. Clark has a public television gardening program, “Garden Wisdom,” and is a regular presenter for New York State Federated Garden Clubs, Urban Roots Community Garden Center and Grassroots Gardens in Buffalo, New York. He credits his success to his commitment to thorough instruction, passion for his field, and early adoption of technology in reaching clients and other professionals. Drawing upon nearly 30 years of experience, Dr. D. Liane CochranStafira is a proven expert in the field of education. Since 1999, she has excelled as an associate professor of biological sciences at Saint Xavier University, where she specializes in ecology and evolution. Prior to her current appointment, she worked at the University of Chicago as a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer from 1995 to 1999. As part of her professional activities, Dr. Cochran-Stafira has authored peer-reviewed research articles, a number of them in collaboration with undergraduate research students, and several book chapters pertaining to Great Lakes ecology and natural history. Before embarking on her vocational journey, Dr. Cochran-Stafira pursued her own higher education, ultimately achieving a PhD in biology at Northern Illinois University in 1993. Ever committed to her profession, she also remains affiliated with several organizations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Ecological Society of America and the Society for the Study of Evolution. Dr. Cochran-Stafira has largely attributed her professional success to her fascination for discovering how nature works, and she plans to continue her research and teaching in the coming years. D.
