LESTINA For more than 30 years, Gerald F. Lestina rose within Roundy’s Inc., a leading supermarket chain in the Midwest. He became the company’s chief executive officer in 1994 and operated in that role until retiring in 2001. Mr. Lestina’s early career included positions at a packing company, as an agent for Allstate Insurance Company, and running operations in the state of Wisconsin at National Insurance Company. Mr. Lestina’s skills were duly recognized by Roundy’s, and so the company reached out to him, beginning what would become a three-decade career. When Roundy’s expanded into retail stores, he was moved to real estate, and when their stores garnered even greater success, he was promoted as the president of Wisconsin operations. Mr. Lestina continued gaining further promotion within Roundy’s, eventually becoming the company’s chief executive officer for seven years. Outside of his career, Mr. Lestina is proud of the work he has done with the Boys & Girls Club of America, teaming up with a professional basketball player to establish an organization that hosts midnight basketball games.
