He then served as the president and chief executive officer of ProRhythm Inc. from 2001 to 2009 and president of Sonavation Inc. from 2009 to 2012. Since 2020, Mr. Warnking has served as the president and chief scientific officer of AerWave Med in Stony Brook, New York, directing the development of an interventional Asthma and COPD treatment. Accounting for his achievements, Mr. Warnking is proud to have participated in the development of an all-electronic intravascular ultrasound catheter that negated the need to mechanically rotate, as the previous iterations had. As an engineer, scientist and executive, he is glad to have made a difference in the medical industry and hopes to continue doing so in the coming years. He also hopes to see AerWave Med’s current innovations used to effectively treat Asthma and COPD become widely utilized in clinical settings. For over 30 years, Reinhard Warnking has worked to improve and innovate medical technology. Originally from Germany, he attended RheinischWestfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen University), where he earned a master’s degree in engineering and worked as a scientist at the university’s Helmholtz-Institute for Biomedical Engineering. He remained at the Helmholtz Institute between 1979 and 1980, after which time he joined Squibb Medical Systems in Solingen, Germany. During his ten-year tenure at Squibb Medical Systems, Mr. Warnking held various positions, serving as a vice president of international operations, technical director, program manager, manager of advanced development and manager of research and development. In 1989, he became the head of the ultrasound division at Dornier MedTech, a pioneer in medical device technology, in the company’s office in Germering, Germany.
