273 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition HEALTH AND WELLNESS Tommie J. Johnson became interested in massage therapy when he was young out of a desire to help his mother, who suffered from four different types of arthritis that caused her extreme joint pain and periods of immobility. He understood the transformative power of bodywork and its pain management capabilities and continued to refine his skills as an adult, eventually pursuing a career in the field. He attended Fremont College, where he earned an associate degree in sports rehabilitation in 2012. After completing his education, Mr. Johnson set out on his own, creating BFRM, where he serves as a sports and rehabilitation therapist for athletes and others. In addition to working with a full caseload of patients and managing the practice, he provides pro bono services and treatments to lower-income clients with disabilities as a way to give back to his community. At BFRM, he finds new clients through word of mouth, and he considers his good client reputation to be a major factor in his success. Mr. Johnson is proud to be able to take away his clients’ pain through therapy and plans to continue to make an impact on the lives of others as a massage therapist and recovery expert. Moving forward, Mr. Johnson plans to continue growing his business and hopes to see it thrive. Through his work, he finds great fulfillment and satisfaction, as he enjoys seeing his clients in good health and free from pain. In his spare time, he enjoys surfing, and he is an active member of Leaders of Society. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee TOMMIE J. JOHNSON SPORTS AND REHABILITATION THERAPIST BFRM Anaheim, CA
