He hopes to study nutrition at Cornell University to better understand dietary restrictions, especially those related to heart disease and high blood pressure. As a chef, his ultimate ambition is to establish a company that assists individuals in achieving better health outcomes through food. He is passionate about educating others on the importance of proper nutrition, diet and exercise, aiming to empower them to make healthier choices. Leland G. Garner has been an executive sous chef for more than two decades, building on his lifelong expertise in the food and beverage industry. As the executive sous chef at The Prisoner Wine Company, he demonstrates skill in menu development, catering, and hospitality by preparing family-style and multi-course meals and advising guests on wine and food pairings. In addition, he oversees brands beneath the company’s banner, such as Domaine Curry, Blindfold and Saldo. Alongside the executive chef, he creates and executes food and wine pairings that act as perfect flavor complements, enhancing the dining experience. Mr. Garner began his culinary education at San Joaquin Delta College, where he received a culinary arts certificate in 2000. Two years later, he graduated from California Culinary Academy with an associate degree in culinary arts and related services. He began working in kitchens in 2005 as a sous chef and executive chef. Mr. Garner attributes his success to his dedication to both his career and his team. He is committed to serving his staff as a mentor and leader and considers strong personnel management skills an integral part of being a chef. LELAND G.
