304 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine HEALTH AND WELLNESS As the network contract manager at Optim Serve Health Services, Yvonne D. Payton specializes in providing contracting services for Medicaid patients with a focus on those entering the military or requiring examinations. She recruits physicians and ancillary practitioners across nine states to improve access to services and better assist patients and health care staff. Prior to Optim Serve Health Services, Ms. Payton spent 14 years with Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania. During her time there, she gained a deep respect for leadership, which prepared her to work better with managers and better contribute to the company. While working as the project manager for staffing requirements at Jessup Correctional Institution in Maryland, she implemented this leadership approach in overseeing 100 licensed practical nurses across seven facilities. She has also worked with major companies such as the Amerigroup Corporation, Beacon Health Strategies and Kaiser Permanente. Moving forward, Ms. Payton aspires to establish an independent consulting business in Columbus, Georgia. She also hopes to pursue a four-year degree to complement her associate degree in retail business management from Bradford Business Center and further her professional development. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee NETWORK CONTRACT MANAGER Optim Serve Health Services Laurel, MD Diane K. Reist has spent decades in the pharmacy industry, providing services as a pharmacist, long-term care consultant and administrator at various points in her career. She holds a BS in pharmacy from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and a PharmD from the University of Florida. As a transitional care pharmacy specialist at University of Iowa Health Care, Dr. Reist plays an important role in transitional care by ensuring patients can take their medications as prescribed and understand their financial options. She examines non-physical determinants of a patient’s health, such as social and economic factors, and uses this data to help patients achieve better long-term health outcomes. One of Ms. Reist’s most significant accomplishments was her election as the president of the Iowa Pharmacy Association. She has also maintained her involvement in various local, state, regional and national associations. She enjoys sharing her knowledge as a mentor to students from all disciplines. Having served as a pharmacist since 1980, Ms. Reist looks forward to retiring someday, though she hopes to continue helping patients, as she finds seeing their improvement to be rewarding and inspiring.
