327 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT Richard P. McCann celebrates more than 44 years of success in law and entrepreneurship. He began his education at The Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1977 and attended law school at Western State University College of Law. After completing his Juris Doctor in 1980, he was recruited by law firms in Las Vegas, and spent several years practicing law in Nevada. Early in his practice, he began specializing in working with law enforcement officers and has continued to excel in law enforcement defense for much of his career. On the advice of several professional mentors, Mr. McCann established the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers in 2007. Mr. McCann has invested a significant amount of money and time in the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers and is proud to have developed the organization from the ground up. He considers the group’s success and work in serving a largely unrecognized client population to be the highlight of his professional journey. In 2021, Mr. McCann stepped down as president of the Nevada Association of Public Safety Officers, and he remains committed to its ongoing success. Following his retirement from organizational leadership, McCann established McCann Consulting, where he provides clients with specialized legal counsel and expert witness services. As an active member of his community, he is a member of the Nevada State Personnel Commission and the Nevada Law Enforcement Memorial and sits on the board of the Nevada Chiropractic Association. Passionate about civic causes, he donates regularly to the American Alzheimer Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Moving forward, Mr. McCann plans to continue working with his firm, sharing the knowledge he has gathered over his career.
