Graduating with a BA in physics in 1969, he navigated an unexpected draft into military service before completing an MBA in accounting at Columbia University. His career led him to roles at IBM and Bell Laboratories, and he went on to spend many years with Telcordia Technologies, the former research unit of the Regional Bell Operating Companies. With the support of his family, Mr. Warrington enrolled in Rutgers Law School and received a Juris Doctor in business law in 1984. After many successful decades of solo practice, he partnered with another lawyer to form the Dawkins & Warrington Law Group LLC in 2021. Mr. Warrington considers his most significant achievement to be his 17 years with the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey, serving as a board member and helping to establish the organization’s mission. The chamber focuses on empowering African Americans to enter and succeed in entrepreneurship, recognizing the structural challenges often faced by Black employees and business owners. Noting the increasing importance of self-employment and entrepreneurship, the chamber plays a crucial role in providing resources, education and networking opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs. Currently, Mr. Warrington is focused on improving access to continuing education, as higher education has become unaffordable for many. He hopes to convey the importance of an educated workforce in global competitiveness and is dedicated to advocating for increased educational availability.
