250 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY Grady S. Mills is a retired United States Army colonel celebrating 30 years of service to his country. He is proud to have served in 19 distinct roles over the course of his career, including posts as a battalion commander and group commander. He began his career as a signal officer, a career track he would remain in for the next nine years before transitioning into multifunctional logistics. Mr. Mills earned a reputation for leadership excellence in a broad range of situations, with stints at the Army Personnel Command, Battalion Command, the Pentagon J4 staff, and as the commander of the 64th Corps Support Group in Texas for two years. Mr. Mills’ final military post was as the commandant of the Army Logistics Management College in Virginia. Under his leadership, the school attained accreditation by the American Council of Education, an achievement he considers one of the proudest of his career. After leaving the military, he spent six years with L3 Communications and Military Professional Resources Inc. Following his retirement, Mr. Mills committed himself to community service, notably volunteering as an assistant boxing coach for the YMCA’s Rock Steady Boxing program for PD patients and as a court-appointed special advocate in Central Virginia. Furthermore, he has served various communities with Samaritan’s Purse. Additionally, he is a member of Gideons International, currently serving as Virginia’s central region director. Mr. Mills attributes his success to the blessings of God through Christ, his wife Mary Jo, development of his personal five-step leadership program, and his ability to balance his work and personal development. He looks forward to continuing his work in the community and exploring opportunities for investments to provide for his children and grandchildren in the future. GRADY S.
