Amponsah felt called to practice medicine at an early age, driven by a desire to help others and his childhood participation in a Red Cross disaster relief effort. He earned a BS in liberal arts and science, liberal studies and medical technology in 1988 and went on to attend the Ross University School of Medicine, where he earned an MD in internal medicine in 1993. Since then, he has served patients and the medical community as a physician, clinical research consultant and independent medical consultant. Dr. Amponsah is the founder of Indobizz Inc., where he serves as an independent medical consultant providing medical monitoring and acting as a medical science liaison. Focused on vaccines and oncology, he assists in the development of clinical research protocols from phase I to IV, leading up to United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval. He considers his most significant achievement to be participating in the development of the first human monoclonal antibodies to treat leukemia and he received a letter of commendation for his work with the United States Penitentiary, Allenwood (USP Allenwood) in Pennsylvania. Due to his research and presentations on AIDS during the early part of his career, Dr. Amponsah has been awarded various scholarships and grants. Throughout his career, he has worked to establish reputable peer-to-peer scientific relationships, strategic partnerships, and collaborations, and he credits his success to determination and his desire to help others. Moving forward, Dr. Amponsah plans to continue contributing to the medical field. In his spare time, he enjoys civic pursuits and has volunteered with Doctors Without Borders.
