Beginning in 1975, he worked for Chase Manhattan Bank as the vice president of international lending. Working with such institutions as U.S. Bank and the Idaho Banking Company for over 20 years, he scrutinized countless companies and evaluated the feasibility of their entrepreneurial endeavors.
