133 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition EDUCATION Keith Stacey celebrates over 30 years of success in academia. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in health, physical education and English in 1990, he taught high school English and language arts for 13 years. During this time, he also pursued a Master of Education at Middle Tennessee State University, earning his degree in 1995. Shifting from teaching to administration, Mr. Stacey has held various positions as a district supervisor, assistant principal and principal for over 20 years. In 2022, he became a school administrator for the Giles County Board of Education; during the same year, he joined the Maury County School District as an assistant director, a role in which he continues to serve today. Mr. Stacey credits his success to his parents, who encouraged their children to pursue education. Due to his passion for helping others, he feels that his personality and skills are best utilized in the field of education, and he hopes to repay his parents’ efforts by making a positive contribution to society. Throughout his career, he has received support and friendship from students, parents, fellow teachers, and all those who donate their time to the public school system. Mr. Stacey is proud to have overseen a remarkable improvement in student test scores each year while serving as a superintendent. He affirms that education is a group effort, one he is glad to have participated in throughout his tenure in the field. Looking toward the future, Mr. Stacey plans to transition to a consulting role so he can better manage his time. As a consultant, he would provide services to educators and share the knowledge he has accrued with others. Additionally, he looks forward to traveling more and riding his bike with the hope of achieving his goal of cycling to different parts of the United States.
