168 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ENERGY, ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING Don Spittler Jr. has enjoyed decades of success in engineering for both the broadcast and aerospace industries. He received an associate degree in television broadcasting from Bates Technical College in 1975 and began his career as an operator for Channel 11 in Anchorage, Alaska. Rising to engineer within six months, he continued for 12 years as a broadcast engineer and helped establish two additional live television stations serving the area. In the late 1980s, Mr. Spittler transitioned out of broadcast engineering and joined Honeywell International Inc. as an electronic security technician. He continued to explore other industries and served as an aircraft maintenance engineer for Boeing for two years before retiring in 2014. Mr. Spittler is a veteran of the United States Army, where he spent three years as a Cobra helicopter crew chief. He began assisting with weapon systems repair and eventually became the head of the armament shop, where he was responsible for repairing the helicopter’s weapons and electronics. In his retirement, Mr. Spittler continues to enjoy experimenting with technology and is an amateur ham radio operator. Millennium Magazine Featured Listee AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER (RETIRED) Boeing Tacoma, WA Before retiring, Bobby J. Wilkerson Jr. excelled as an engineer for over 40 years. He worked for the City of Houston, Texas, and continues to lecture at Texas Southern University. Well-regarded for his professional expertise, he holds a wastewater engineering certification from Texas A&M University and studied at Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University. As a young man, Mr. Wilkerson honorably served as an airman in the United States Navy for four years. After leaving the military in 1980, he began operating as a construction engineer. He subsequently worked with Texas Southern University as a construction management engineer in the Leonard H. O Spearman Technology Building, as part of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. In 1987, Mr. Wilkerson joined the City of Houston as an environmental quality specialist. He is a Fourth Degree Knight of Saint Peter Claver in Father John Dorsey Assembly No. 2 and the recording secretary for the Texas State Conference of the Knights of Saint Peter Claver.
