Bell is a forensic accountant and international fraud risk management expert who offers clients a comprehensive range of risk- management solutions as a consultant and software developer. She holds a BS in applied economics and management from Cornell University and was an ASCENT fellow at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. While completing her undergraduate studies, she developed an interest in fraud risk after recognizing its prevalence across industries and its effect on the accuracy of widely used financial models. Ms. Bell was certified as a private investigator in the state of North Carolina for many years, and in 2017, she completed an MS in financial crime and compliance management at Utica University. Ms. Bell began her career as a forensic accounting intern for the Syracuse Police Department and accepted a senior forensic accountant position with Grant Thornton in 2004. She later spent four years building the global antifraud program at Delhaize Group before being named the global fraud head for FINCA International in 2012. Building on her demonstrated expertise, Ms. Bell founded Fraud Doctor LLC in 2010 to provide clients with training and education, consulting, litigation support and fraud risk management consulting services. In 2019, Ms. Bell created a SaaS tool, Šóta Signal Analytics, to democratize her proprietary accounting fraud risk assessment and for the risk of material misstatements software, developed using more than 40 years of historical data of publicly traded (listed) companies from more than 100 countries. Adjacent to her primary pursuits, she is also an adjunct instructor at Utica University, a global chair emeritus of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Board of Regents, and a popular keynote speaker for conferences around the world. Furthermore, she holds leadership roles in numerous pertinent organizations and was named the Pasco Economic Development Council’s 2023 Entrepreneur of the Year.
