Mr. Rein’s expertise in asset recovery developed from his work in creditor rights, representing financial institutions in loan enforcement and bankruptcy matters. In the early 1990s, he encountered a case involving a guarantor who had hidden assets abroad, prompting him to learn the complexities of international asset recovery. With assistance from a New York firm, Mr. Rein recovered funds and identified a financial adviser involved in the conspiracy. Recognizing the potential of this niche field, Mr. Rein proposed the concept of “international asset recovery,” achieving a 100% success rate in recovering assets for domestic clients. Now with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton, he and his team assess the political and cultural dynamics of various jurisdictions to determine the feasibility of recovery efforts. He intends to continue engaging in intellectually challenging cases and looks forward to helping clients navigate challenging scenarios and outmaneuver fraudsters. For over 40 years, Eric “Rick” S.
