45 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Dwight R.B. Cook celebrates 50 years of success in the fine and performing arts. When Mr. Cook first attended college, he majored in music education, following a lifelong passion for the performing arts. In the early 1970s, he was encouraged to audition for an opportunity in New York City, which launched his professional acting career. He went on to serve as the production manager of the Boys Choir of Harlem until 2002, developing a reputation for his savvy management and attention to detail. In 2002, Mr. Cook earned a Bachelor of Arts in theater from the City University of New York Herbert H. Lehman College. At that time, he also became the production manager of the Carl J. Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University. In 2018, he became a member of the school’s faculty, teaching stage management as an adjunct professor in the fine and performing arts department. As a production manager, he managed technical operations for the university’s Fine Arts Center and facilitated all tech for the department and its various productions. As he looks forward to winding down his career, Mr. Cook is preparing to leave his production management and teaching positions in order to focus on directing and writing. To wit, he looks forward to exploring opportunities to direct and adapt his work for the stage, with the hope of one day seeing his pieces on Broadway. DWIGHT R.B.
