When not touring, Mr. Paul dedicates his time to writing, coaching and producing. Mr. Paul attributes much of his success to his mother, teachers, and mentors, his longtime practice of Kriya Yoga, and the unwavering support and companionship of his wife of 44 years, Angela Paul, and their daughter, Arielle Paul. With over six decades of experience to his credit, Alan Paul has built a distinguished career in the music and entertainment industry. As a founding member of The Manhattan Transfer, he and his partners have achieved international acclaim with sold out concerts around the world and over 30 recorded albums. They have received 10 Grammy Awards and 18 Grammy nominations, including Best Jazz Vocal Album for their album “Fifty” in 2023. Mr. Paul has also been honored as an inductee in The Vocal Group Hall of Fame and the East Coast Hall of Fame. Likewise, he received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Society of Singers and the prestigious American Eagle Award from the National Music Council. Mr. Paul began his professional career at the age of 12 in the original Broadway production of “Oliver.” In 1971, he returned to Broadway in the first cast of “Grease,” playing the dual roles of Teen Angel and Johnny Casino. Wanting to further his music studies, Mr. Paul attended Kean University as a vocal major and graduated with a BA in music education.
