Since 2004, he has produced images for his company, Photos by Ted, building on a career that included 12 years as a staff photographer for Penthouse Magazine. Mr. Karpovich holds a Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and briefly practiced law before pursuing his passion for photography professionally. He spent eight years with camera maker Minolta and has shot for VNB Magazine, covered New York Fashion Week, and contributed to the EMM Report. Mr. Karpovich credits his success to his integrity, honesty, and ability to build rapport with others and considers success to be a never-ending process of growth. He has been interviewed by CNN about his work in the adult content industry and was named ASN Magazine’s best life photographer, among other honors. Mr. Karpovich is proud to provide pro bono work for New York City-area charities. In the coming years, he looks forward to further expanding his impact and portfolio in the field. Bryan C. Kimbel Jr. has been assisting film and advertising directors in achieving perfect scene lighting for over 25 years as a gaffer and the owner of Chroma Lighting Group. He holds an associate degree in fine art photography from Lansing Community College and a BA in advertising illustration with an emphasis on film from Brooks Institute and launched Chroma Lighting Group in the late 1990s. Mr. Kimbel considers his most notable achievement to be lending his expertise to independent movies and cult films that have found an audience without major studio or distributor involvement, with a portfolio including projects like Wolfhound and Broken Road. He is proud to have been on the crew of three Michael Bay-directed Transformers films and the blockbuster “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Looking to the future, Mr. Kimbel hopes to expand his skill set to offer underwater photography services. As a creator and small business owner, he is dedicated to creating initiatives for productions and small creators throughout Michigan and looks forward to using his position to mentor other film industry hopefuls.
