68 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Wendell Ray Walker is an exhibition designer and former museum operations director. He spent over 45 years working with a broad range of institutions and organizations, including MoMA PS1, the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, UNICEF, New York University, The Studio Museum in Harlem, Asia Society and The Florida Holocaust Museum. In 1989, he designed the official, first prizewinning U.S. exhibition of work by Martin Puryear at the São Paulo Biennial. He holds a BA in sculpture and traditional African art from DePauw University. During his tenure as a deputy director at the Museum of the Moving Image, Mr. Walker oversaw a $67 million renovation and expansion, followed by managing the acquisition of a major collection of objects from Jim Henson’s world. He designed and managed the creation of a new gallery dedicated to Henson, as well as a traveling exhibition that toured the U.S. from 2017 to 2024. Since 2021, Mr. Walker has aided clients as the director of Wendell Walker Design LLC.
