Brown III is the president and chief executive officer of KETCHConsulting, a firm specializing in risk management and disaster preparedness consulting. He celebrates more than 40 years of expertise in risk management and is proud to have led KETCHConsulting as one of the top names in its sector for the last 21 years. Mr. Brown began his journey as a student at The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1968. Mr. Brown began his career working at IBM, working in traditional hardware and software support roles. By the late 1980s, the company had begun to explore other revenue streams, launching a recovery and risk assessment arm focused on technology infrastructure. In recognition of his sales expertise, Mr. Brown was selected to participate in the new venture, and under his leadership, IBM’s recovery business grew from launch to more than $1 billion in valuation in just ten years. After leaving IBM, he continued to work in the software industry for another five years. Since creating KETCHConsulting, Mr. Brown has worked with many clients, including Acco, a California-based construction company, which relied on the firm to develop a business continuity plan that carried it through COVID-19-related shutdowns. In addition to risk assessment services and alternative strategy consulting, KETCHConsulting offers comprehensive training and coaching services to help businesses respond to a broad range of unforeseen events, from personnel issues to natural disasters. Among other honors, Mr. Brown was named Disaster Recovery International’s 2017 Consultant of the Year and is the only recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. He was elected to the Continuity Planning Management Hall of Fame in 2000 for his work on a project in the United States Virgin Islands and has been invited to present internationally. Outside his consulting work, Mr. Brown is a four-term elected trustee of Pennsylvania State University and the former chair of its risk subcommittee.
