413 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition TECHNOLOGY Dennis Garcia Defensor celebrates more than four decades of expertise in law and business. Originally from the Philippines, he immigrated to the United States in 1973 and attended Beloit College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in biology. He continued his education at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, where he earned a Juris Doctor. Mr. Defensor began his career as a proposal writer and manager for Falcon Systems and Falcon Microsystems in 1984. After three years, he left the company to become a law clerk for Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, followed by an associate attorney position at Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs LLP. He moved into his first executive position in 1989, as the vice president of systems integration for Falcon Microsystems. Continuing to rise in his career, he held numerous executive roles including president and chief executive officer of Viacom New Media and senior vice president of DLT Solutions. In 2023, Mr. Defensor formed Saltenna, where he serves as chief executive officer. The company specializes in applied plasmonic communications, providing secure high-speed, high-bandwidth wireless services. As chief executive officer, he establishes the company’s business strategies and lays the foundations for developing target markets. Over his long career, he has cultivated a large knowledge base on information technology and communication, writing “Harnessing the Power of the Industrial Internet for Government” for Government Computer News in 2015. Moving forward, Mr. Defensor plans to either sell Saltenna or take the company public. He is committed to using his position and experience to change the world and hopes to continue disrupting legacy industries to elevate them to new heights.
