Montebello, CA Millennium Magazine Featured Listee ALFRED KENYON BUTLER Alfred Kenyon Butler is a retired human factors scientist who dedicated more than 30 years to his work with the System Development Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in psychology from the University of California Santa Barbara and began his career in 1959. During his time with System Development Corporation, Mr. Butler was responsible for developing air defense training materials, including technology training curriculum for United States Air Force personnel and material for Air Force computer equipment. Following his retirement in 1991, Mr. Butler became active in his local senior center in Bremerton, Washington, where he proudly served as treasurer for 28 years. A talented performer, he learned tap dance at the age of 68 and spent the next decade in a tap dance performance troupe — composed of him and five women — that made more than 500 appearances at hospitals and community events. He credits his success to his flexibility, positivity, and good health and is proud of his impact on others throughout his career. Drawn to the innovative and dynamic nature of the technology industry, Andy J. Casas began working with computers in 2001 as the system administrator at the Intellisource Technical School. He went on to work as a desktop support officer, providing system administration services for industry-leading companies such as Universal Studios, Yale Chase Equipment and Services, and Eurostar Inc. Driven by his lifelong learning ethos, Mr. Casas began teaching in 2018. He began as a computer teacher and robotics coach at Our Lady of Talpa School and is a longtime computer instructor for Charter Oak Unified School District Adult Education. In addition to his work in education, he is an information technology consultant with PAC Computer Network Consultants and an information technology specialist with Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services Inc. Mr. Casas aspires to become a faculty member at a community college teaching computer technologies and certification courses. He holds a Bachelor of Science in information technology and a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix. ANDY J. CASAS
