361 Millennium - Eighteenth Edition SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY From a formative age, Dr. Brian Foreman was inspired to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry. He began his vocational journey by completing pharmacy school prerequisites at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in 2008. During his time at the institution, he worked as a pharmacy technician with PRN Pharmaceutical Services, an Omnicare Company, and later as a pharmacist intern at Family PharmaCare Inc. Graduating with PharmD from Purdue University in 2012, Dr. Foreman became a staff pharmacist at Lutheran Hospital for five years. Since 2017, Dr. Foreman has operated as an oncology infusion clinic pharmacist with Witham Health Services. There, he ensures the cleanliness and operations of the inpatient pharmacy cleanrooms. When patients arrive, he verifies labs, reads physician follow-up notes, and calculates appropriate chemotherapy doses, followed by making the infusions for the patients. Patients are counseled on their medications, and side effects discussed in order for patients to have a clear understanding of their therapy. Dr. Foreman also assists the hematologists with anticoagulation dosing, builds new medications and treatment plans into the EMR, and participates in any educational needs for the patients and staff as needed. Dr. Foreman helped to build Witham Health Services’ first oncology clinic from scratch within the hospital premises. His prior experience working in oncology clinics elevated him as a perfect candidate for his job, and he gladly accepted the new challenge, now contributing to the continued rapid growth of the clinic. In 2023, he received the Sunflower Award from Witham Health Services for his continued service to the public. As a valued member of the team at Witham Health Services, Dr. Foreman aims to keep growing and developing, both professionally and personally, in the coming years. To wit, he plans to increase the company’s staff and broaden its reach so he and his colleagues may better serve their patients and the needs of the hospital.
