Moving forward, Mr. Alfonso intends to initiate at least 60 community projects to help address the homelessness crisis and infrastructure challenges in his area. He is an active father and looks forward to guiding his daughter and his young nieces and nephews through all stages of their lives. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and going on dinner dates with his wife. Joseph J. Alfonso found himself interested in finance at a young age after his secondgrade teacher taught the class about stocks. In 2008, he entered the military, serving in the United States Marine Corps for five years before beginning a finance career in earnest. He joined Huntington National Bank in 2016 as a personal banker, further cementing his interest in the financial services sector. Continuing in finance, he worked as a loan officer at My Personal Credit Union and a personal banker II at Fifth Third Bank. Since 2024, he has served as an investor lending consultant with FMS Investor Financing. In 2022, Mr. Alfonso received a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Southern New Hampshire University, making him the first in his family to earn a four-year degree. He is proud of all that he has accomplished, and as a part of his commitment to community service, he spent two years as an office specialist for the city of Kentwood, Michigan. He maintains membership in organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the State of Michigan JOSEPH J.
