Her vocational journey began in 1992 with a poetry contest win that earned her a spot in the esteemed anthology, “Tears of Fire.” This early success ignited her passion for storytelling, which soon evolved into a multifaceted career as an author, journalist, publisher, songwriter and playwright. Driven by her love for writing and inspired by the stories of others, Ms. Hopson, under the pseudonym Charron Monaye, founded Pen Legacy LLC, a company that has since grown into a powerhouse with divisions in entertainment, publishing and theater. While her literary career thrived, Ms. Hopson also found her passion in law and government, where her sharp intellect and commitment to fairness have made a significant impact. Her interest in law was sparked during her time at West Chester University, driven by a desire to help others understand their rights and navigate the complexities of the legal system after witnessing injustices faced by her peers. After graduating, Ms. Hopson became a contributing writer for the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals and worked as a paralegal in employment, criminal and discrimination law, gaining firsthand insights into how legal knowledge could prevent lawsuits, terminations and litigation. Her advocacy skills soon led to an opportunity at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she rose from veteran service representative to management analyst, becoming a steadfast advocate for veterans. Throughout her illustrious career, Ms. Hopson has been honored with many prestigious awards, including becoming a fellow of the Most Excellent Order of International Experts, an honorary doctorate from CICA International University & Seminary, and commendations from the New Jersey General Assembly and Senate. She is also the proud mother to Christopher and Craig and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and the Order of Eastern Star.
