252 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY Combining military service and executive expertise, Angelo Riddick achieved monumental success over the course of four decades. Prior to his retirement in 2019, he served as the chief information officer and director of the Bureau of Information Technology for the United States Virgin Islands, in addition to operating as the chief information officer for the state of New York. His tenure in these roles spanned four years, during which time he was a cabinet member for four administrations — two in the Virgin Islands and two in New York under Governors Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul. In the Virgin Islands, Mr. Riddick played a pivotal role in reinstating the information technology (IT) and communications infrastructure following the 2017 hurricanes, an achievement for which he was honored as the Executive of the Year. In New York, he oversaw an IT enterprise with approximately 3,000 employees and a budget exceeding $900 million. Alongside his primary endeavors, Mr. Riddick honorably served in the U.S. Army, commanding the contingency operations site in Kirkuk, Iraq, from 2000 to 2011. He joined the military in 1981, rising in the ranks until his retirement as a colonel in 2014. During his military service, he taught as an assistant professor at the National Defense University for six years, specializing in information systems, cybersecurity and information technology enterprise management. Mr. Riddick’s career experience is complemented by his extensive education. He holds an associate degree in business administration and management from the Marion Military Institute, a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Albany State University and a Master of Quality Systems Management in systems science and theory from The National Graduate School of Quality Management. In the coming years, Mr. Riddick intends to finalize his autobiography and launch an innovative mentoring program. Rather than traditional one-onone mentoring, he aims to create a community of mentees who will support and learn from each other as they navigate life.
