Yorktown Heights, NY OWNER Plant Whisperer Provo, UT TIMOTHY E. KRAWETZ Over a nearly 40-year career, Timothy E. Krawetz has excelled as an engineer and executive. As the vice president and head of the health care design practice at the Syska Hennessy Group, he is responsible for the company’s continued success. Mr. Krawetz coordinates the daily operations of offices worldwide, including in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Shanghai. Mr. Krawetz considers his most remarkable accomplishments to be his work on the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, where he helped design a sustainable hospital. Another highlight is the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, now known as The Wild Center, which features a room that recreates all four seasons. Both projects earned the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York’s Diamond Engineering Excellence Award. Highly qualified, Mr. Krawetz holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Manhattan College and is a certified professional engineer and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. Looking ahead, he aims to train more young engineers to ensure the industry’s continuity. Well-versed in horticulture and landscape architecture, Jason Leroy Laws has excelled as a designer, horticulturist and master gardener. Throughout his career, he has overseen the initial planting, continual maintenance, and consultation of thousands of trees on numerous commercial and residential projects. Approaching his work with a uniquely open mindset, he explains and teaches about entire ecosystems, connecting leaves, branches, moss, bark and roots as parts of the whole. As the owner of Plant Whisperer, Mr. Laws endeavors to share this philosophy with others. Mr. Laws has been honored with several accolades, including the ISA Arborist of the Year for the State of Utah in 2001 and 2021. He was also a featured host on KLO AM 1430 radio between 2011 and 2012. In 2022, he was featured in several news spots for KSL 5 and KUTV 4 relating to water conservation and plant health care. In 2023, he appeared in the Lawn & Landscape magazine article, “Plants and Process, Focus on water: xeriscaping.” While he is proud of his professional success, Mr. Laws is particularly grateful for his wife, five children and three grandchildren.
