Ms. Hale began her nursing education at Anderson University, where she received an Associate Degree in Nursing in 1977. Later in her career, she returned to school, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ball State University and a master’s degree in health services administration from St. Joseph’s College. In addition to her 40-year career in nursing, Ms. Hale is focused on providing access to reading materials for children, particularly at Mound State Park. She has worked with the park’s director and naturalist to establish a rotating bookshelf for children, aiming to enhance their park experience with literature related to animals, nature and wildlife. Literacy is an important topic to her, and she leads efforts to promote literacy throughout her community. She is dedicated to supporting her family and serving as the regent for the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Looking ahead, Ms. Hale plans to become a state officer in the DAR and intends to continue making a positive difference in her community and state government. As a health care professional, she hopes to be remembered by her peers as a dedicated and compassionate nurse who goes above and beyond in her care for patients. Outside of her work in nursing and literacy advocacy, she is a master gardener and a naturalist. A s a registered nurse with St. Vincent Health Care Anderson, Deborah S. Hale is devoted to ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in behavioral health care settings.
