As a consultant, he oversaw the South Nassau Community Hospital’s transition to becoming the only medical center in its area, guiding hospital administrators through absorbing thousands more patients. In addition to his work in the health care industry, Mr. Savage has served as a professor at Iona College since 2014 and, more recently, at Mercy University and Hofstra University, teaching health care analytics and developing the curriculum for health care administration, finance and entrepreneurship. The school has honored him for his long-term service, and he considers his work in education to be some of his most significant. Mr. Savage credits his success to his big-picture mindset, which he developed thanks to his engineering background, and he looks forward to continuing his work over the next five to ten years. Paul Savage is an educator and health care administrator whose career spans more than five decades of leadership success. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Health Care Intelligence LLC, a consulting firm providing innovative data and process analytics solutions to clients since its creation in 2000. Mr. Savage holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He returned to Pace University as an established professional for a Master of Business Administration, following the advice of his professional mentor, Norman Metzger. Before establishing Health Care Intelligence, Mr. Savage held leadership roles with some of the top hospital systems in the United States, including Columbia Presbyterian and the management engineering (operations improvement) department at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
