Originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, she received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Kigali in Kigali, Rwanda. Her career is highlighted by her successful business focusing on African food, serving clients in more than 15 countries. She credits her success to the strong relationships she has built with numerous clients and her ability to speak 14 languages. In the coming years, Ms. Narukundo intends to expand Moriah Market; she is already in the process of renovating a dedicated grocery space. As the business continues to grow, she plans to establish a facility for orphans and widows, creating a peaceful environment for prayer and reflection. This space will be open to the public, and the proceeds generated by it will be used to support the welfare of orphans and widows. Furthermore, she plans to continue volunteering at a local hospital and contribute more to initiatives that help those in need. Since 2021, Denise Priscilla Smith has owned and operated Smith & Wiggins Supply Company LLC. Based in Detroit, Michigan, the business notably created the innovative TADA Laundry Detergent Sheets. Designed for convenience and sustainability, TADA has quickly gained traction in local markets, reflecting Ms. Smith’s commitment to creating practical, eco-friendly solutions. Previously, Ms. Smith spent two decades in various roles at Wayne State University. Furthermore, she was appointed as an employee for the Detroit City Council and the Wayne County Clerk’s Office.
