In 2014, he founded Bio42 Consulting LLC to oversee various projects. Over time, the small consultancy business evolved into an entity with its own dynamic market presence. Today, the company specializes in providing comprehensive consulting services to hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. Furthermore, Bio42 Consulting provides technical and summary information, with a focus on guiding clients through all stages of process development. The business also assists in scaling manufacturing operations and supporting commercial production. Dr. Burrows takes pride in his contributions at Parke-Davis and Company, where he was involved in significant pharmaceutical drug research and development. He focused on cardiovascular and atherosclerosis issues, with his work on congestive heart failure leading to the identification of a highly effective treatment. His involvement in developing second and thirdgeneration Lipitor demonstrated his dedication to advancing medical solutions, and his groundbreaking work on cancer treatment has exhibited promising results in reducing the side effects of chemotherapy. Looking ahead, Dr. Burrows plans to develop Bio42 Consulting further. Likewise, he aims to continue his work alongside the Bill and Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute, where he is providing his expertise in the Shigella vaccine project, which is nearing completion. He hopes to transition to a fulltime role with the foundation, as his values align closely with the institute’s philosophy of providing pharmaceutical materials to underdeveloped countries. For over 40 years, Dr. Stephens D. Burrows has been involved in scientific research efforts, beginning with his undergraduate education at Tri-State University (now Trine University), where he earned a BS in biology in 1980. He continued his education at Eastern Michigan University, receiving an MS in biology and biological sciences in 1989.
