147 Millennium - Nineteenth Edition SCIENCES, PHARMACEUTICALS AND BIOTECHNOLOGY Melissa Glisson draws on more than a decade of experience as a leader in the field of environmental science. As the continuous improvement lead for CP Kelco U.S. Inc., she primarily focuses on improving environmentally friendly practices in the chemical manufacturing industry. To wit, she is responsible for problem-solving and crisis prevention measures to ensure the company can reach its future goals. She has worked with the organization since 2010, prior to which she served as an etch technician in the department of global research for the General Electric Company. In addition to her many years of experience, Ms. Glisson previously pursued a higher education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh, a Master of Business Administration in international business from Southern New Hampshire University, and a Master of Science in microbiology and cell science from the University of Florida. At CP Kelco U.S. Inc., Ms. Glisson takes pride in working with recent college graduates new to the workforce. She enjoys the diversity of her industry and finds joy in helping young professionals grow in their careers. Throughout her career, she has taken on roles with increasing responsibility in unfamiliar areas, challenging herself and growing as a professional. Over the coming years, Ms. Glisson aims to acquire new skills, striving to become an expert in her field. She plans to attain the position of data analytics manager within CP Kelco U.S. Inc., aspiring to reach the same level as her mentor. Furthermore, she intends to pursue another Master of Business Administration in data analytics to further validate her expertise and enhance her confidence, despite already having over 10 years of industry expertise. She believes that being exposed to different learning environments will allow her to gain diverse perspectives stemming from varied experiences.
