162 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine TECHNOLOGY Since childhood, Per Edin has been captivated by the space industry. Watching black and white footage of a moon walk ignited his passion for space exploration and, in adulthood, led him to contribute to a rocket launch project in South Africa. After graduating with an MS in electrical and electronics engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in his home country of Sweden, he secured a position as a systems engineer for the European Space Agency. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous space programs and projects, including the research project Geo Warn, which studies the use of space technology in addressing natural disasters. He presented this project at a United Nations conference, marking a pivotal moment in his career. As a board director and an advisory partner with KPMG US, Mr. Edin guides and advises the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) go-to-market strategy in the United States. Since joining KPMG in 2016, he has played a pivotal role in establishing and expanding the strategy practice to provide impactful counsel to clients, particularly in tech, media and telecommunication. This initiative has grown into the largest segment of the strategy practice in the U.S., with a strong focus on media and telecommunication clients. Mr. Edin previously served as the vice president of Cisco. This position saw him assuming the role of global head of strategy, business development and operations for the services division — a significant portion of the company’s business. Before his time at Cisco, he spent 17 years at McKinsey & Company, progressing from an associate to a senior partner. Looking ahead, Mr. Edin aims to guide business and society through the transformative impact of AI. He believes AI can have a positive influence on society, and while he may not be able to address issues such as inflation or geopolitics, he intends to ensure this technology is used for the benefit of humanity.
