He thoroughly enjoys working and innovating in the robotics field with medical applications. His roles include designing, developing, testing and sustaining software for surgical robots. Originally specializing in robotic knee replacements and implant design, Monogram Technologies is now exploring new niches. Mr. Vurelli looks forward to further collaborating with other engineers, scientists and medical professionals to research and create new robotic technologies and applications, progressing toward the company’s vision. Born and raised in India, Mr. Vurelli’s journey into the world of robotics began with an exceptional academic foundation. He graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Technology in electrical engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), an institution known for its rigorous admissions process requiring a 99.9th percentile rank. Eager to expand his horizons, he immigrated to the United States, where he pursued a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in control systems at Arizona State University, graduating in 2018. After graduating, Mr. Vurelli met Monogram Technologies’ chief executive officer, Benjamin Sexson, and was brought into the company at an early stage. He is the first employee hired personally by Mr. Sexson. Monogram Technologies has provided Mr. Vurelli with a unique opportunity to learn and make a significant impact on surgical robotics. He played a critical role in the company’s growth to be listed on Nasdaq with a valuation of $246 million. The company submitted its products to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, awaiting approval to introduce its innovative products to national markets. Mr. Vurelli's contributions have been recognized by the United States for his extraordinary ability and achievements in surgical robotics.
