FRENCH JR. After graduating from Southern Illinois University with a BS in psychology, Joseph C. French Jr. began his professional path by starting an art gallery. In the 1980s, he subsequently sold the gallery and became a licensed real estate agent. He furthered his real estate education by earning a degree at New York University before becoming the vice president of Brandenberg Real Estate. Afterward, Mr. French established his own brokerage firm, French Associates, which was later acquired by The Hutensky Group. In 2002, Mr. French acquired a Sperry Van Ness franchise and quickly became a top producer. In 2011, Marcus & Millichap acquired his company, where he continues to serve today as a senior managing director of the national retail group. Beyond his commercial real estate endeavors, Mr. French is the author of “French Lessons: Letters to My Daughters,” published in 2020. This book reflects on his career as one of the few African American real estate investment advisors, offering advice on both business and life. Looking ahead, Mr. French intends to support the next generation of real estate professionals and remain actively involved in volunteer work. Following a successful 30-year career with Kiewit Company, Michael J. Pauletto opened MPauletto and Associates LLC in 2006. He has since served as a consultant on dam projects throughout the Western Hemisphere. He currently oversees 12 projects, reviewing plans and specifications, and he is involved in developing natural pozzolan to replace fly ash in concrete. As a business owner, he strives to share his success by teaching and mentoring others in the heavy construction industry. Mr. Pauletto holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering and geology from Oregon State University at Corvallis. Mr. Pauletto is particularly proud to have received a prestigious award from Kiewit Company in 1997. To wit, he was honored for his exemplary project management, which showcased strong financial performance, quality and adherence to safety standards. This recognition made him only the 16th recipient of the award in the company’s history. Looking ahead, Mr. Pauletto plans to pass his knowledge on to the next generation of young professionals in his industry by publishing a book. Likewise, he hopes to continue his work on sustainable materials, including a renewable diesel plant. MICHAEL J. PAULETTO
