23 Millennium - Nineteenth Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT named the William T. Kemper Distinguished Professor of Painting. Mr. Rosser’s journey into the arts began when he was 16. Though he initially considered pursuing a career in history or archaeology, his passion drove him toward creativity and artistic expression. Thus, he attended the Cardiff School of Art and Design in Cardiff, Wales, and went on to earn a National Diploma in Art — an equivalent degree to an MFA — at the University of London Goldsmiths College in London, England. Reflecting on his career, Mr. Rosser considers his most notable achievement to be serving as the chair of the Kansas City Art Institute painting department, which allowed him the privilege of leading and reshaping educational programs. In this role, he assembled an exceptional team of faculty members to enhance academic experiences for students. Regarding his artistic pursuits, he is proud to have shown his work in an exhibition at the renowned Tate Gallery in London. Mr. Rosser’s journey as a painter has been characterized by constant evolution and the relentless pursuit of new styles and techniques. This ongoing quest for artistic growth has resulted in many exhibition opportunities, such as his solo exhibition, “Parade: Parallel Tracks,” at the University of Leeds in England and the Jan Weiner Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri. Moving forward, Mr. Rosser is committed to continuing his daily practice of painting, which is his enduring passion. Now retired, he largely devotes his time to the creative process, driven to discover new directions for his art. R obert Warren Rosser has enjoyed a successful five-decade career as an educator and artist. Originally from Wales, he immigrated to the United States in 1972 after he was hired by the Kansas City Art Institute as a visiting artist.
