In addition to her coaching work and executive leadership duties with Rainbow-Ono Sanctuary, Dr. Mainah has served as a United States immigration and asylum officer since 2017. As an expert in her field, Dr. Mainah has excelled as a visiting professor at Kalamazoo College and a member of the board of both the Harvard Business Review and the Harvard Medical School’s Institute of Coaching. Furthermore, she has been published extensively in professional journals and independent publications on organizational leadership, coaching and development. In the coming years, Dr. Mainah looks forward to continuing to build on the mission of the Rainbow-Ono Sanctuary. Likewise, she hopes to devote more time to outreach projects in Kenya and her local community. Dr. Fredah Mainah is the founder and chief executive officer of Rainbow-Ono Sanctuary. She started the business in 2021 to develop and promote her message of self-leadership. She began her professional journey in Kenya, where she was raised, earning a BEd at the Siriba Teacher Training College in 1984. Continuing her studies, she completed an MS in organizational learning and performance at Western Michigan University in 2013, and she subsequently achieved a PhD in organizational leadership at The Chicago School in 2016. She returned to Western Michigan University, ultimately earning a graduate certificate in integrative holistic health in 2016 and an MEd in instructional design and technology in 2018. Dr. Mainah turned her focus to leadership and coaching in 2007 as a member of the Life Success Productions Master Mind group. During this time, she worked concurrently as a senior human resources and organizational development consultant for IDM-BLS, departing in 2010 to work with Freedom Business Consulting LLC as a positive psychologist and personal life coach.
