In her current role, she focuses on the defense sector, supporting and implementing defense programs. In light of her fulfilling career, Ms. Reynolds is grateful for her time working with Spirit AeroSystems, where she has learned a wide variety of skills. Furthermore, she is proud to have mentored young women, all of whom have embarked on their own thriving careers. Though metallurgical engineering remains a largely male-dominated industry, she hopes to continue mentoring women in the field and contribute to their representation in the sector. Ms. Reynolds remains passionate about supporting the next generation of professionals in her industry, including her own children. Following Boeing’s acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems in 2025, she is prepared to explore new learning opportunities and advance her career as she navigates the company’s future changes. Ashley E. Reynolds has cultivated more than a decade of professional experience in the field of engineering. Having operated as a metallurgical engineer for Spirit AeroSystems Inc. since 2023, she is responsible for conducting drawing reviews, correlating the requirements for processes and materials used in the product, and collaborating with suppliers. She frequently interacts with the supply and quality teams and manages special process approvals. Since childhood, Ms. Reynolds has been fascinated with the aerospace industry. She pursued an education at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering in 2009. Continuing her education at Friends University, she ultimately achieved a master’s degree in operations management in 2012. Ms. Reynolds began her career at Spirit AeroSystems as an intern, completing two summer internships with the company before joining as a full-time metallurgical engineer in 2010.
