74 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE Que Spencer Hansen leverages more than 50 years of experience as an administrative leader. He is the owner and chief financial officer of Tall Tree Administrators, a private third-party administrator specializing in self-funded medical and dental plans. After graduating from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Mr. Hansen’s career journey began at the Los Angeles County Department of Hospitals at Harbor General Hospital. During his three years with the department, he discovered his passion for hospital administration and decided to pursue a degree in the same field. After earning an MPH in hospital administration at the University of California, Los Angeles, Mr. Hansen joined Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, where he served as an administrator for over 20 years. During this time, he notably helped develop and implement the hospital’s Alternative to Abortion program. This program paid for child deliveries in full, assisted mothers in coordinating adoptions, and aided them with other counseling and medical social services. At its onset, the program helped with over 500 births. Mr. Hansen joined with three hospitals during a malpractice insurance coverage crisis and created two offshore professional liability companies: a hospital professional liability company in Bermuda and a physician professional liability company in Grand Cayman Islands. In 2001, Mr. Hansen created Tall Tree Administrators, which remains his primary focus today. Previously, he developed a similar company and formed two offshore insurance companies for member hospitals to find reasonably priced professional liability insurance. He is proud to have helped many physicians protect their professional liability and attributes his accomplishments to hard work and confidence. Throughout his career, he has kept in mind the wisdom of his grandfather: “If anybody can do it, I can.” Looking ahead, Mr. Hansen intends to enter real estate development, with the intention of constructing more townhouses in his community.
